Today was the day when i tried the bicarbonate of soda/apple cider vinegar method for the first time. And you know what? It worked!
My hair looks newly washed and it doesn't smell bad from the vinegar at all. I went easy on the olive oil as well, and it worked too!
I did like this:
1. Wet my hair and body.
2. Took a teaspoon of bicarbonate in one of my hands and put a little little bit of water there so it would be easier to divide ir in the hair. And the put the bicarbonate and water mix just in the top of my hair.
3. Massage the scalp so the mix would get even.
4. Rinse the hair.
5. Put a little bit of olive oil on my 'problem areas' where my skin gets very dry. Since the oil is so greasy i didn't dare to put more.
6. I cheated a bit, but i put soap in my armpits because it doesn't feel clean otherwise. I will have to study more on a replacement for that.
7. Wash the whole Linet.
7. Filled a plastic box with cold water and about 10% apple cider vinegar.
8. Did a few very graceful tries to dip the hair in the box. I only dipped the length of my hair like I used to do with conditioner.
9. Left the vinegar and water in the hair and gave it a blow dry.
So what have I learned? Bicarbonate works, and next time I will put the vinegar mix in all of the hair to see if it gets softer.
And about the olive oil, I will try to put more of that as well next time.
